Weekend FUN

Have you ever wondered... how your "disaster" affects kids around you?  My kids (are for the most part, grown) however, I KNOW any complaint I have causes them such concern that they will, in fact, internalize it and concoct their mom in their eyes (yes, the invincible one).  BUT this weekend... I watched my GRANDtwins and nephew, I mean I really WATCHED them.  We spent the day out on Saturday.  I took them to a craft store; and while there I  had the best time I have had in a long time.  Because of these kids just being kids I forgot (for those moments) everything else about me!  Just look at the fun mustered up...  how could I NOT love this?

After the store I took them for frozen yogurt (yep, it was windy, it was cold...outside) but inside (after they were able to make ANY kind they wanted) we had a blast!
I just wanted to share this with you all, because sometimes life is the trip we create, it is not always the one created for us.

Do something for YOU today!

I Will Not Own What Is Not Mine

For anyone with a chronic illness it is very disheartening to KNOW that someone who is supposed to care most about you, will exponentially and/or inexplicably support others with any of their plights before supporting your own.  (even those "on-line" friends, they have never met)!

Depression (something thankfully I do not suffer from) - is even more difficult to deal with when the person holding the mirror, who talks about others faults, only has negative views and outlooks, will never once look into their own mirror.  I am so very thankful I do not suffer and I have clinically been told I am not at risk for chronic depression (I would never wish this upon anybody).  This is something I deal with externally and their denial sometimes is as bad as the disease.

If I end up having to fight my own health battles alone, I am not worried, as I am accustomed to doing things individualistically .... I have always held my own job, made my own money, paid my own/family bills, taken care of my kids, was and always will be strong enough to enforce my will and beliefs; I do NOT need the hand of anyone to hold but my own... my Gram taught me well!

One thing you observe in the life of someone who suffers and will not admit it, is the reasoning, the excuses, the justification of why why why... why they haven't done this that or the other and how easily they can find those reasons of justification and blame to others ... for EVERYTHING they cannot, will not, or have not accomplished.

For someone to actually make you feel like you are not believed ... simply a liar... and then you are supposed to also feel loved... How?  No matter what... HOW?

You decide NOT to be included in the nonsense .. that is HOW, b/c you know yourself, all you give, all you do, and how you love... so you chose not to allow anyone to continue to do this to you.

If "it" is mine; I will own it.  However, I will NOT own what is NOT.... I am handing it back.  I have enough.

Valentine's ...

My 16 yr old son, Joshua gave my husband and I the card he bought us for Valentine's Day.  He wrote in that card; he wrote from his heart; HE touched mine!

Josh has a temper, a mouth, an argumentative persona... he also has a heart filled with love, a warmth, and an outstanding abundance of adoration for his family!

He is our youngest child... I feel as if he has been cheated.  Josh got stuck with the "older" parents, the parents who cannot keep up with him and many things HE loves to do... I hate not being the strong mom like I was in my "younger days"; or the mom who definitely would have given him a run for his money.   I know his dad feels the same.

But, Josh does not yet understand... it is because of HIM I remain the mom I am!  He sets my heart ablaze with his imagination, his adoration, his ability to SEE things beyond what they are... Josh is true to himself and I treasure that in him.  He is my Valentine every day of the year.  I want him to know just THAT!  That without Josh, his mom would NOT be the same person she is today.

I love all my children... Heather, Danny, and Josh.  To them I dedicate this special I LOVE YOU!

For my husband... ahem... I have other ideas!

They should all be made....

... like my daddy!
I swear they should.  My dad, always made sure he was the best family man.  He would start the cars in the morning, to warm them up before we got in them, he would make stops at the bakery and get us each our faves, took us trick-or-treating TWICE in the same night (although, it is possible it was more for him than us) and he worked, he worked so hard!!
Yes, I have said before that he may have shown that he was a great husband sometimes better than a dad, but the older I get I know that is not true.  Yes, he made sure his wife was more than taken care of (financially, physically, and emotionally) but he was also the parent at every school function, the one that taught us sports, the one that woke us in the morning.
I know of many other fathers that just thought work was enough, and then some that thought staying home was enough.... neither are true.  MY daddy, is an extra hard worker ... to be sure his family wanted for nothing.
I could go on and and about my daddy.  He is the epitome of a great man, father, and husband!  Still when I am having a "not so good day" I wish I was that lil girl again. (I am having a "not so good day"; think I will call him.)

A Man (my Man) and HIS Dog!

Good Sunday all my family and friends.. may you receive blessings from Heaven!
I have to say that between my mattress and MS I have a horrible time sleeping as the pain (especially in my legs) becomes TOO much.  Well, as a result I have taken to sleeping in a therapeutic bed (in a different room from my husband).  Yes, this is stressful at times in and of itself, as I cherish his body next to mine, and laying in his arms.  However, it appears that our dog, Buster has found this to be a HUGE opportunity.  (Our two Boxers, are our babies.)
The other morning, as I tumbled from "my" bed and made my way out of the bedroom, I looked down the hall into "our" bedroom, and was puzzled as it looked like the entire bed was FULL.  As I walked toward the bed, it appeared... Buster was "spooning" my hubs! LMBO... For real, his head was on the pillow and he was pushed up right against his back.
HMPF... I thought, WOW this dog really thinks he won, he has it made... his "master" and best friend really do now belong to him... no more sharing.  Before I thought to get the camera, Buster notices I was awake, meaning.. time for breakfast.  Although, I did not get "the" picture this one shows you the love between a man and his dog:
(now this was taken years ago!) somethings never change!
Last night, AHA... I won!  I tried my hardest to sleep in bed with MY husband... and if looks could kill:
